Rachel Bilson Cast as Possible Mother in “How I Met Your Mother”

Last month, How I Met Your Mother creators gave fans a little hint about when Ted is finally going to meet his future wife and the mother to his children – which is the whole premise of the show. During the 100th episode (which will air in January), exec producer Craig Thomas said that there would be “some serious mother action and it’ll be the closest Ted’s ever come to discover who she is.”

Entertainment Weekly is saying that Rachel Bilson has landed a key role in the 100th episode.

Thomas went on to say that he and fellow exec producer Carter Bays have been “spending a lot of time trying to cast the female role in Ted’s story for episode 100″ — a role a Mother insider confirms has gone to Bilson.

But no word yet if she’s really the mother or just another potential longtime girlfriend.
