TNT Cancels ‘Raising the Bar’

TNT will not be ordering a third season of its legal drama Raising the Bar, due to low ratings.

The series stars Saved by the Bell alum Mark-Paul Gosselaar and follows a group of lawyers in New York City, who went to the same law school.

In a statement, the network wrote,

“Everyone at TNT had a great experience working on Raising the Bar with Steven Bochco and the rest of the show’s terrific cast and crew. We’re proud of the series and appreciate the efforts of all of the creative people who were involved. Unfortunately, ratings for Raising the Bar’s second season did not reach the levels required for TNT to renew the series.”

Raising the Bar’s remaining three episodes are expected to air in 2010.

A Night at the ‘Woodies’

It was a night of college students, stars and of course music that made the MTVu Woodie Awards a night to remember.

The Woodies, which first aired five years ago, is a celebration of music that’s voted by college students. This years awards took place in New York’s Roseland Ballroom (on Nov. 18), where musicians like Matt and Kim, The Dead Weather and Death Cab for Cutie rocked the stage.

Matt and Kim started off the show as they biked to the stage along with some friends, who weren’t only their back-up singers, but also began stripping down as they performed their single, Lesson Learned.

Stars like Zooey Deschanel, Mary-Louise Parker, Leighton Meester, Pete Wentz and Cyndi Lauper also joined in on the fun as they presented the awards to various categories including, Breaking Woodie, Best Performing Woodie, Best Video Woodie and Good Woodie.

It wouldn’t have been a night, however, if someone didn’t poke fun of Lady Gaga. Although she wasn’t at the awards show, 30H!3 dressed up in some of her wackiest outfits as they took the stage to present Left Field Woodie.

Zac Posen to Design Collection for Target

Designer Zac Posen has been dressing stars like Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Winslet for their red carpet events and now he’ll be dressing the everyday gal.

Posen’s Go International collection will be available at Target from April 25, 2010 through May 30, 2010.

The Go International collections have featured designers which include, Thakoon, Erin Fetherston, Jovovich-Hawk and most recently Rodarte, whose collection will hit stores this December.

Introducing Lou Samuel, Heidi Klum’s Daughter

Heidi Klum posted photos of her new baby daughter, Lou Samuel, on her official Web site. The mother of four wrote,

“It´s difficult to imagine loving another child as much as you love your existing children.Anyone who has a family will tell you this.Where will one find that extra love? If you love your existing children with all of your heart, how then can one possibly find more heart with which to love another?
On Friday October ninth 2009 at 7:46pm, the answer to this question came in the form of our fourth child and second daughter. Lou Sulola was born and from the moment she looked into both of our eyes it was endless love at first sight. She is beautiful beyond words and we are happy that she chose us to watch her grow over the coming years.”

Woody Allen Casts France’s First Lady in New Film

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy has agreed to appear in Woody Allen’s next film.

The former supermodel was approached by Allen, but doesn’t know yet what role she’s going to be playing.

During a recent interview on Canal Plus television she said that she does things a “little bit blindly.”

“”I’m not at all an actress. Maybe I’ll be absolutely terrible. “I’d like to — you know — when I’m a grandmother, to have done a Woody Allen film. I cannot in my life miss an opportunity like this.”

John Mayer Covers ‘Details’

John Mayer takes the December cover of Details magazine. The singer talks about his life, career and whether or not people hate him.

Here are some highlights.

How he feels currently about his life:

“I have the obsessiveness of someone who’s a sober, recovering addict displacing his addiction. Except I never had the addiction. I’m in the place of greatest freedom right now—not giving a fuck. I have what I would consider artistic tenure, and I created it for myself. I don’t have anybody telling me what to do. I don’t have ‘fuck-you’ money. I have ‘that’s my seat’ money.”

On whether people hate him:

“What if I had a booth on the street and I said, ‘Attention, everybody who hates me: If you have a problem with me, I’m ready to hear your gripes! I will be outside the Barneys store on 60th Street from two to four this afternoon. I will not be speaking to fans. I will only be speaking to people who do not like me. Come out and let me have it. I will not speak back.’ How many people do you think would be standing there? I’m talking about people getting the chance to tell me directly, ‘I think you’re a douchebag.’ You know how many people would do it? Ze-ro. You know what they’d do? They’d walk up and say, ‘I’m just messin’ with ya.’ And you know what I’d say? I’d say, ‘You’re a douchebag!’”

On whether he dates celebrities to further his career:

“You just never know who’s going to come into your life. To my mind, the only thing sicker than saying, ‘Wow, you’re a famous person and it would do a lot for my career to go out with you,’ is to say, ‘Wow, you’re a famous person and I like you and all, but I can’t do that to my career.’ I don’t think either of those is a good option.”

Tiger Woods Involved in Car Crash

Earlier this morning, Tiger Woods was hurt in a car accident outside his Florida home.

As he pulled out of his driveway, he struck a fire hydrant and then drove into a tree on a neighbor’s property.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was reported to be in serious condition, but his rep recently confirmed that he’s doing “fine.”

Woods’ wife, who was inside the house when the accident occurred, used a gold club to help get him out of the car.

First Look: Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex

Here’s the first official image for Josh Brolin’s new film Jonah Hex.

Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who!) brings the comic book to the big-screen and the film also stars Megan Fox and John Malkovich.

It’s set in the Wild West, where a scarred bounty hunter (Brolin) tracks a voodoo practitioner bent on liberating the South by raising an army of the undead.

The film is currently set for a June 2010 release.

CBS Stands by Decision to Blur Adam Lambert Kiss

Adam Lambert is having quite a week. His performance this past Sunday at the American Music Awards has been criticized as too sexual and he was supposed to appear on Good Morning America yesterday to perform live, but that was canceled. The network didn’t want Lambert to put on the same performance that he did at the AMAs.

Instead of performing on Good Morning America, Lambert performed on The Early Show on CBS.

The network also interviewed the star and played footage from the American Music Awards, but the kiss that Lambert shared with a male on stage was blurred out.

CBS also aired footage from when Britney Spears and Madonna performed at the Video Music Awards and kissed on stage. That, however, was not blurred out.

After many spoke out about the incident, the network issued a statement and stands by what they did.

They said:

“We gave this some real thought. The Madonna image is very familiar and has appeared countless times including many times on morning television. The Adam Lambert image is a subject of great current controversy, has not been nearly as widely disseminated, and for all we know, may still lead to legal consequences.”
