Jon Hamm Hosts ‘SNL’ – Video


Mad Men star Jon Hamm hosted last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live.

This was his second time hosting the show and he participated in parodies where he poked fun of his Mad Men character, Don Draper, a crazy sax guy named Sergio and a lawyer who’s having a tough time at court.

First Look: Kathy Bates on ‘The Office’

NUP_138371_0847Check out the first photos of Kathy Bates on The Office.

As we previously reported, Bates joined the show and will be playing the charismatic and iconoclastic CEO of Sabre, the mysterious company that acquires Dunder Mifflin.

Her character will be a Southern charmer who has always done things her way.

In the episode, Sabre comes in to take over Dunder Mifflin. Michael (Steve Carell) struggles to accept Sabre’s new policies.

Meanwhile, Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) have an interview for a local daycare they really want to get into and Andy(Ed Helms) and Erin (Ellie Kemper) work on a welcome song for Sabre as Erin waits for Andy to ask her out.

The episode airs on Feb. 4 at 9:00 p.m. on NBC.

‘Jersey Shore’ Gets Picked Up for a Second Season


The Jersey Shore cast will be back for a second season, MTV announced today.

Pauly Delvecchio, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, Ronnie Margo and Vinny Guadagnino will all return, but not to Jersey Shore. According to MTV, they’ll “escape the cold Northeast and find themselves in a new destination” for the second season.

“Our audience has fallen in love with Jersey Shore and its amazing cast who have really grown together as a family. That bond gives the show its heart, and we’re thrilled to reunite these friends to bring fans more of what they love — laughs, love, drama and of course, GTL,” said MTV’s President of Programming Tony DiSanto.

Weinstein Co. Acquires ‘Blue Valentine’


Weinstein Co. has bought the rights to the romantic drama, Blue Valentine starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams.

The film made it debut at Sundance last week and was praised by critics.

Harvey Weinstein was in town for the festival and was seen chatting with Gosling, who’s next film All Good Things is also being distributed by the Weinstein Co.

Blue Valentine chronicles a troubled marriage between Dean (Gosling) and Cindy (Williams) through flashbacks. From when they first met to where they are now.

NBC Renews ‘Parks and Recreation’


Parks and Recreations has been picked up for a third season.

The comedy show stars Amy Poehler and is executive produced by Greg Daniels and Mike Schur (The Office).

Although it began on a rocky start, Parks and Recreation quickly became a favorite.

Focus Features Acquires ‘The Kids Are All Right’


Following its premiere at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, Focus Features has acquired the rights to The Kids Are All Right.

In film is about two teenage children conceived by artificial insemination who seek out to find their birth father and introduce him into the family life that their two mothers have built for them. However when they find him, the household will never be the same. Family ties are defined, re-defined, and then re-re-defined.

The Kids Are All Right stars Annette Bening, Julianne Moore as the parents; Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson as their children; and Mark Ruffalo as the donor.

Director Lisa Cholodenko says:

The Kids Are All Right is all about family, and joining with Focus feels like a perfect marriage. I’m proud that the movie has now found such a special home.”

‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” Teaser Trailer


Check out the official teaser trailer for the upcoming film, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

Michael Douglas, who earned an Oscar for portrayal of cutthroat corporate raider Gordon Gekko, returns to reprise his role.

Shia LaBeouf plays a young and ambitious hedge-funder who is engaged to Gekko’s estranged daughter (Carey Mulligan).

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps also stars Josh Brolin, Frank Langella and Susan Sarandon.

The film opens in theaters on April 23, 2010.

New ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Stills


Check out these new photos from Tim Burton’s upcoming film, Alice in Wonderland.

The film stars Mia Wasikowska (Amelia, Defiance) as Alice.

Johnny Depp (The Mad Hatter), Helena Bonham Carter (The Red Queen), Anne Hathaway (The White Queen), Alan Rickman (Caterpiller), and Michael Sheen (The White Rabbit) round up the cast.

Alice in Wonderland opens in theaters on March 5, 2010.

“Catcher in the Rye” Author J.D. Salinger Dies at 91

426-salinger--124384048334733400American novelist J.D. Salinger, who wrote the iconic novel, Catcher in the Rye has passed away on Wendesday (Jan. 28).

He was 91.

Salinger died of natural causes at his home in Cornish, N.H, his son said in a statement.

He lived there for decades in isolation.

Salinger is best known for Catcher in the Rye and declined any requests from Hollywood to turn it into a movie.
