Eva Mendes: W Magazine July 2010

Eva Mendes rocks a Miu Miu dress on the latest issue of W Magazine. Here’s what the 36-year-old shared:

On being nude in films: “I’ve never had a problem with nudity, but I don’t put it out there without a reason. I’m not an exhibitionist. But, honestly, for my art I’ll do anything almost. I’ll go there.”

On whether nudity worries her: “I know I walk a fine line between being a respected actor and being what they call a sex symbol. It’s a hard one to walk if you want to be known as a real, credible actor. But I’ve never felt objectified. Nothing you see me do is an accident. . . . I’m incredibly calculated when it comes to my career.”

On playing a comedic role in The Other Guys: “It’s very hard for me to be seen as funny, and the truth is, that’s where I’m most comfortable. [This role] was completely liberating. Never have I had so much fun with a character and felt so natural at it. Had I done this movie three years ago, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to throw it back at Will, and now, if anything, I was overly confident. I didn’t know when to stop!”

On her ethnicity: “I don’t consider myself a Latin American actress. I was born and raised here, and I have Cuban parents, but for me, I am the new American girl. It’s not only Drew Barrymore and the blond Midwestern girl. This, [pointing to her face] is also what we look like now.”

Amanda Bynes Retires from Acting at 24

Amanda Bynes has decided that she’s going to retire from acting – her last film Easy A will be released in September.

Bynes announced her retirement on Saturday (June 19) via her Twitter page.
The actress announced Saturday on Twitter that she was retiring from acting at age 24.

She wrote: “Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem. If I don’t love something anymore, I stop doing it. I don’t love acting anymore, so I’ve stopped doing it. I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve #retired. I’ve never written the movies & tv shows I’ve been a part of. I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play.”

Cameron Diaz: InStyle Magazine July 2010

Cameron Diaz sizzles in Gucci on the July cover of InStyle. Here’s what the Knight & Day dished about:

On dating: “It’s one thing when I answer questions for myself—it’s another thing when I answer questions and someone else is involved. It’s not fair to the other people in that equation.”

On motherhood: “I’m not opposed to it happening. Having children changes your life drastically, and I really love my life. Children aren’t the only things that bring you gratification and happiness, and it’s easier to give life than to give love. So I don’t know. That kind of change would have to be either very well thought out, or a total mistake—a real oops!”
