DVD Review: Happy Endings

Rarely does a show come along that comes close to the much loved and adored Friends.

However, add a stellar cast that includes Elisha Cuthbert (24), Zachary Knighton (FlashForward), SNL alum Casey Wilson and a great set of writing to the mix and Happy Endings sure gives Friends a run for its money.

Eliza Coupe (Scrubs), Adam Pally (Californication) and Damon Wayans Jr. (The Other Guys) round out the cast.

The breakout comedy follows a witty group of friends whose social life is given a jolt by the breakup of the couple who bought them all together.

The Two-Disc DVD set features all 13 episodes including “Mein Coming Out.”

For those that didn’t see the episode, time to stop reading this and see it! The episode is proof that the show works – on all levels.

In “Mein Coming Out” Penny (Wilson) meets a nice guy at a bar whose last name happens to be Hitler. She attempts to get used to the name by imaging if they married what her name would appear like.

Enough said.

The DVD also features deleted scenes, outtakes and a Mark Douglas Parody Theme Song.
