Melissa McCarthy’s Bridesmaids Advice!

Get ready for some hysterical laughing when Bridesmaids is released onto DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow!

But until then, here’s some advice from the film’s very own Megan (Melissa McCarthy):

Megan’s (Melissa McCarthy) Guide to Getting You Out of a Dating Slump

When it comes to dating, we all find ourselves hitting a bit of a dry patch sometimes… take heart! Follow these simple rules of thumb from Bridesmaids’ Megan and you’ll be finding love in no time at all…

Be Yourself
One of the foundation stones of a new relationship is HONESTY. That’s why we fully advocate being yourself – completely, hopelessly yourself – with any potential lover. Face it, they’re going to see the real you eventually, so it’s best to let them know what treats are in store. Inhaled some dodgy meatballs during that candlelit dinner? Not sure which end they’re going to come out of first? Why hide it – they’ll only love you more.

Play To Your Strengths
No one likes a bragger, but there’s nothing wrong with blowing your own horn a little. Whether you’re a dab hand at crochet or rule the women’s lacrosse team, tell him. Outdoor activities (tree-climbing, say) are guaranteed to have him begging for more, upping your profile in the team-player stakes as well as hinting at underlying sexual prowess (note: being double-jointed wasn’t only something to shout about in high school…).

Own Your Sexuality
We’re all for holding it back – tantalising glimpses of a negligee, or the gentle of brush of your hair against his cheek… We’re not saying give it up – but when it comes to dating, face it: confidence is sexy. If you feel like blocking a man’s path using only your calf, DO IT. Tell him about the status of your “under-carriage”. Just don’t show him.

Give Compliments
Every man likes to talk about himself – just like every woman. But make concessions for his bigger male ego, and he’ll be putty in your hands. Ask questions. Take an interest in his line of work. If he’s so pretty it makes your stomach hurt, tell him. Who cares if you follow through?! It’s the thought that counts.

Keep Him Guessing
Everyone knows that a stagnant relationship will not be a relationship for long! Keep things fresh from the beginning of your dating cycle with a few surprises. Look to the future; make plans. What can you do to keep things interesting? If that means forming a female fight club, who cares?? Grease up. SURPRISE!!!
