Blu-ray/DVD Review: 21 & Over

Yes, dramas, thrillers and action-packed films are ruling the box office. But once in a while, you just need that raunchy comedy.

Herein, comes 21 & Over.

The film follow Casey (Skylar Astin) and Miller (Miles Teller) who decide to surprise their friend Jeff (Justin Chon) at his apartment for his 21st birthday. They quickly find out that it’s the eve of his big job interview and he’s very resistant to celebrate his birthday.

After finally convincing him otherwise they go on the ultimate night of bar hopping and Jeff gets completely hammered. They attempt to call it a night and get him back home but they forgot one thing – they can’t remember where he lives.

As the film goes on, they must race against the clock and try to get him home in time for the one moment that could shape the rest of his future.

The film is the directorial debut of Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, who penned The Hangover. Similar to the film, 21 & Over takes a group of friends, adds alcohol into the mix and forces the characters to face odd situations in order to help a friend.

Astin, Teller and Chon have great on-screen chemistry and work well together. The film is definitely good for a few laughs and will have you missing your college days.
