Natalie Portman Condemns John Galliano for Anti-Semitic Remarks

Natalie Portman, who’s the face of Miss Dior Cherie fragrance, is speaking out against Dior designer John Galliano after a video hit the Web showing him going off in an anti-Semitic rant.

“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today,” Portman said in a statement. “In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”

Galliano has since been fired by Dior.

Matthew Goode is GQ’s Perfect 10

matthew-2A Single Man star Matthew Goode models the 10 best looks of this season for the January 2010 issue of GQ. The actor also talks about his films, The Single Man, directed by designer Tom Ford and Leap Year, where he stars alongside Amy Adams.

On playing a man with gay tendecies:

It’s like Ben Stiller going “full retard” in Tropic Thunder. This is my full gay. But Tom’s screenplay is so good. It’s a love poem to his partner.

matthew-8On Tom Ford’s attention to detail on set:

He’s got a hell of an aesthetic vision. On the first day of filming, I had to go off with Tom and the photographers to do a naked shot. And I had a few hairs not in place, so he had to ruffle my pubic hair a little bit. I’m not lying.

On ‘Leap Year’

I don’t think that one will shatter anyone’s illusions about love. But I hope people will go and watch it. If they don’t, it won’t be the first time.
