Jennifer Aniston: Allure Magazine February 2011

Jennifer Aniston covers the February issue of Allure magazine. Here’s what the 41-year-old actress shared:

On the famous “Rachel” ‘do she once sported: “I love Chris [McMillan, her hairstylist], and he’s the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look. How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen. What I really want to know is, how did that thing have legs? Let’s just say I’m not a fan of short, layered cuts on me personally, so I don’t love revisiting that particular era.”

On not taking herself seriously: “I’m actually comfortable in goofdom. Not taking myself seriously is one of my favorite things to do, because I don’t. Ever.”

On changing her looks in her upcoming films: “I didn’t wear mascara in Just Go With It. It’s fun to transform a little bit — what did I have to lose? I was ready to be silly and go with a full-out comedy, and it was the first time I felt truly sure about what I was walking into. Because with the last couple of movies, I wasn’t completely sure, and I should have probably trusted my gut. For whatever reason, they all happen the way they’re supposed to.”

Andrew Garfield: Details Magazine February 2010

The Social Network’s Andrew Garfield covers the February 2010 issue of Details magazine. Here’s what the 27-year-old actor shared:

On his role in Spider-Man: “I see it as a massive challenge in many ways. To make it authentic. To make the character live and breathe in a new way. The audience already has a relationship with many different incarnations of the character. I do, as well. I’m probably going to be the guy in the movie theater shouting abuse at myself. But I have to let that go. No turning back. And I wouldn’t want to.”

On landing the role and becoming famous: “I realized immediately how much hard work it was going to be, and how much of a minefield it was going to be in terms of all the s–t that comes with it. Stuff that I would like to not have any part of. I mean visibility and being recognized walking down the street. I’m holding out a naïve and ignorant hope that won’t happen…. I hope I never blow up. I hope that I have to audition for every single job I want. I hope that I’m always struggling, really. You develop when you’re struggling. When you’re struggling, you get stronger.”

On the scene in The Social Network where he loses it: “That day and night of shooting was one of my favorite experiences. I was actually proud of myself because I didn’t care what I was doing. I was literally not judging myself. And it was so f—ing beautiful for a second….I felt more like a man than I’ve ever felt.”

Leighton Meester: Seventeen Magazine February 2010

Leighton Meester rocks a colorful floral dress on the February cover of Seventeen magazine. Here’s what the Country Strong actress opened up about:

On her singing: “I’m working with a band right now, doing a lot of acoustic music through singing and writing. It’s really fun and fulfilling. It’s an expression of what I have in my life and what I’m going through, or what I have gone through, and of course, it’s mostly about love or relationships.”

On the fact that having a boyfriend isn’t a priority: “I would say the same thing today as well. [But] I think that the importance of love is really strong for me in my life, whether it’s a guy or a friend or just my puppy. I think love changes you over time, and whether you have good or bad experiences, you always grow and learn from it.”

On starting a family: “I want a family someday and I know that I have to let love in to create that and I think there is someone out there for me, but I’m not on some crazy hunt for that right now.”

Amy Adams: Marie Claire January 2010

Fighter star Amy Adams looks stunning on the cover of Marie Claire’s January issue. Here’s what the 36-year-old actress opened up about:

On choosing her roles: “I’ve never really been too concerned with how I’ve looked on-screen. And I’ve never really played a stylish, modern, glamorous girl. But with these last two movies [The Fighter and On the Road] I’ve done, I was raw. I hope that’s the journey I’m on. It just feels more honest.”

On fiancé Darren Le Gallo: “[He's] not competitive with me, which is great. That just wouldn’t work. We’re a family, and he’s really embraced his role as a father [to our 7-month-old daughter Aviana].

On her new film The Fighter: “What’s funny is that some people who’ve seen it have said, ‘Amy, you’re finally playing yourself!’ It’s not that she’s like me. It’s just that she’s less naive.”

Julianna Margulies: Harper’s Bazaar January 2011

Julianna Margulies gets interviewed by her Good Wife co-star Alan Cumming in the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar. Here’s what the 44-year-old actress shared:

On her character Alicia on The Good Wife: “It’s a challenge because she’s so far from who I am. I’m not saying I’m a crazy sexual person, but she’s such a repressed Wasp. I think the beautiful part of this journey she is on as a woman is that now she’s finding out who she is through her work and also discovering what sexy is to her.”

On balancing motherhood and her career: “It’s tricky being a working mom. You feel guilt all the way around. You want to be there for your husband, be there for your kids, be great at your job, all that stuff. But at the end of the day, if you put everyone in front of you, what happens to you?”

On marriage: “I saw myself as someone who would always have a partner, but I never liked the feeling of what marriage said. Looking back, I think I was just mostly scared of it. Strangely, when the time was right, it all seemed to make sense. There’s a big difference in what you think you’re supposed to be and what you suddenly realize you are.”

Sarah Jessica Parker: Elle Magazine January 2010

Sarah Jessica Parker rocks a green Halston Heritage dress on the January cover of Elle magazine. Here’s what the 45-year-old actress opened up about:

On aging naturally:
“I don’t know what I can do about the aging. Yes, I am aging. Oh my God, I’m aging all the time. It’s like those flowers that wilt in front of you in time-lapse films. But what can I possibly do? Look like a lunatic?”

On her reaction to being offered the position of President and Chief Creative Officer at Halston and Halston Heritage:
“I kept saying, ‘You understand, by offering this you are going to be criticized?’ It took me a long time to say yes.”

On meeting the twins after their birth: “[Meeting them] is hard to describe. Everything is suspended. I can’t even tell you what other sounds were in the room. I loved them immediately, but everything—their size, the shape of their heads, the color of their hair, their noses, their eyes—was new to me. They looked surprisingly different from James Wilkie, which I wasn’t expecting.”

On taking her role at Halston very seriously:
“I said, ‘Please know this now: I will never do this for a title. I will never dip in and out of this. I’ll do it like everything else I’ve ever done. I’ll be involved down to the splitting of the atom.’”

Reese Witherspoon: Glamour Magazine January 2011

Reese Witherspoon covers the January 2011 issue of Glamour Magazine. Here’s what the 34-year-old actress shared:

On romantic comedies: “I love romantic comedies. I watch them all the time. I love all my fellow female romantic comedy queens, like Jennifer AnistonJennifer Garner and Katie Heigl. I also think that the questions romantic comedies ask about men and women are universal.”

On having more kids: “I would love to have more kids. Kids are the best part of my day. I don’t wake up to make movies. I wake up to hang out with my family.”

On women in Hollywood: “There’s always going to be somebody younger or sexier. That’s why I like to say, and it’s become my famous line, ‘Funny doesn’t sag.’”

On feeling sexier as she gets older: “I think as a woman, you get older, you feel more confident in your sexuality. You’re not as intimidated by it, not as embarrassed by it. Sexuality and femininity is an accumulation of age and wisdom and comfort in your own skin. I feel better – so much better now than I ever did in my twenties. I am calmer; I know who I am. And as a result, I feel much sexier.”

Christine Bale: Esquire Magazine December 2010

Christian Bale strikes a pose on the cover of Esquire’s December issue. Here’s what the 36-year-old actor opened up about:

On keeping his family and personal life private: “Look, I’ve got incredible pride for my family. I’ve absolutely fallen into that cliché of a dad who could just happily talk about my daughter endlessly. But it’s not what I’m about in terms of being an actor. I don’t want people to know about that…I don’t want people to know me….Because that buggers up my job. Because if you know something about somebody, it gets in the way of just watching the guy as the character.”

On what he would have done if he wasn’t an actor: “I think I probably would have tried to experience my own stories in the way my father did — the sort of travel, the randomness of life, educating himself through experiences. I think I get that partially through acting, but you have to make an effort to be in an unprotected environment because everyone thinks you’re a completely incapable idiot who couldn’t possibly brush his teeth without an assistant. You have to make an effort in order to be able to actually experience the country that you’re in.”

On who he admires: “Chris Farley was just phenomenal. Beverly Hills Ninja will always remain one of my tops. I have watched that movie. One time I sat down and watched it two nights in a row, and cried with laughter both times. The guy just was a phenomenon, and is missed dearly in my household.”

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway Get Naked For EW

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway get close and naked on on the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s latest issue.

Their new film Love and Other Drugs involved many sex scenes and the pair talked to EW about it.

Hathaway on getting naked for the movie: “I mean, I don’t go to the beach in a bikini for a reason. So I thought, ‘Okay, I’m going to be in control. I’m going to do everything properly, disrobe at the last minute, and in between shots get the clothes back on.’ But then I found that every time I put my robe back on, it rubbed all the body makeup off, and that added 20 minutes to filming.”

Gyllenhaal on the merkin tape they used in the film: “It supposedly was the same tape that they used on Pirates of the Caribbean to keep everybody’s wigs on.”

Gyllenhaal on filming sex scenes with Anne : “I mean, look. I’ve had a pretty illustrious career at this point but the hardest thing has been pretending to be turned on by Anne Hathaway. It’s an art form. It’s very carefully planned out. It’s actually very much like football, you know. There are plays. You just got to look for holes in her defensive end,” he said, before quickly adding, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it like that!”
